At Fabric Creations by Lee, every stitch tells a story and every piece has a purpose. I’m Lee – a passionate fabric artist who believes in the beauty of second chances, especially when it comes to fabric. I specialise in one-of-a-kind creations made primarily from recycled textiles, giving forgotten or unused materials a vibrant new life.

With a love for colour, texture, and personality, my work is all about crafting unique, functional art that brings joy, comfort, and a bit of whimsy into your everyday life. Whether it’s a bright shoulder bag made from repurposed denim or a soft, sensory learning blanket designed to engage young minds, each item is lovingly handmade and completely original – no two pieces are ever the same.

🎀 Burping Bibs and Play Mats –Handmade with care, each one-of-a-kind set is soft on your shoulder and gentle against baby’s skin, perfect after feeds and during teething. Absorbent towelling keeps messes in check. Ideal for tummy time or floor time. Easy-care: Machine washable and quick to dry.

My Fascination with Fabric

Fabric is a part of our daily lives in ways we barely stop to think about — we wear it, wrap ourselves in it, dry dishes with it, and tuck ourselves under it each night. It’s woven into every corner of our routines, both practical and comforting.

Humans have been making cloth for thousands of years — scientists believe the earliest clothing was crafted over 120,000 years ago from animal skins and plant fibres, simply as a way to survive the elements. Thankfully, we’ve come a long way since then (and most of us now prefer to leave the skin on the animal!).

What fascinates me most is how fabric continues to evolve, yet its essence remains the same — it protects, expresses, and connects us. I love working with natural fibres and giving old textiles new life. Every piece holds a story, and I get to help tell it — one stitch at a time.

I enjoy working with fabric. Much like a Painter letting their colours settle on the canvas, a Ceramic Artist giving the clay room to choose its form on the turning wheel or a Wood Worker chipping away at a piece of driftwood, I find it quite exciting to choose some material, then allowing it to whisper. I am often delighted with what ends up being made.

Everything I make is designed to be used every day, and by anyone!!!!!

It brings me so much joy when I can turn an ordinary piece of material into a useful and beautiful object that another person chooses to use every day.
