About Me

Hi, I’m Lee !!!!!

For as long as I can recall, I have always loved ‘Soft’ material and ‘Sparkles’. I distinctly remember as a very young child, I had the most beautiful light blue and white patterned dress. It was as soft as a cloud and felt as though I was being embraced by the material. Like being wrapped in the cuddliest of Safety blankets, I was ready to face the world, when I wore that dress.

A few years later after outgrowing this dress, I had a flowy and full skirt. I couldn’t wait to get home from Primary School so I could put it on and twirl around the room like a dancer from a by-gone era. There was something about the way the fabric made me feel when I wore it, that has stayed with me.

Throughout my life I have enjoyed creating. In High School I Wrote – mostly Short Stories and Poems. Full of emotion, meaning and many times, adding a good touch of humour. Anyone who received a card from me knew they would receive a short story, even now I cannot write a brief message. Before Writing and deciding what I wanted to do after finishing High School, there was Sewing.

My Nan knew the importance of being able to make Clothing and insisted on teaching me how to use a Sewing Machine and Overlocker with varying degrees of success. Once I figured out how to stitch in a reasonably straight line, I enjoyed the learning process and under Nan’s guidance I was able to make my own Tracksuit, however during my later High School years, my schooling took precedence over driving a sewing machine.

Life got busy after I completed High School, and it was another 6 years before I turned on a Sewing Machine, this time to make Privacy Curtains for a Station Wagon. Friends were preparing to go on a camping adventure but wanted to sleep in the vehicle to keep costs down. I had never made curtains before but figured, ‘How hard can it be’, the windows were measured many times, before I cut the material and in a few days, the curtains were done.

Little did I know, that 30 years later, I would be so immersed in the world of fabric and design, and creating products specifically to benefit the user. Seatbelt Cushions for all ages, Removable Cushioning to tie on to Stair Cases, so little ones learning to stand don’t knock their head when they stand upright, Blankets that encourage learning, embrace family time and offer comfort.

Each item I make, is made specifically for the person. The colours they like, patterns, print or plain, texture, need and size are all taken into consideration before the material is chosen.
